I don't live in Mexico but I am planning on moving there in 1 1/2 years because my boyfriend will be deported. I have a 8 year old daughter as well, we speak very little spanish, and are caucasian. I am very worried about taking my daughter there and finding a school for her as well. How long have you been living there? Can you tell me alittle more about your life down there? Good luck with finding a school!!

There are private bilingual primary and secondary schools in Tijuana, particularly in the Playas district. Most are listed in the local Telnor yellow pages and online. Tuition runs about $200 dollars a month. Here's one elementary school as an example:

hi lila. i understand your concerns as far as the move to baja mex. its a big transition. i recently moved to rosarito but i work in s.d. i have two girls ages 16 and 7. i looked into private schools since my daughters and i know limited spanish. the monthly tuition was not the problem for me. the problem was with the yearly enrollment fee which is about 1200.00 us dollars. so my only other option was to find an address to use in san diego so that i can cross them on a daily basis... its a pain in the @$# but we do what we have to right? unsure.gif best of luck to u! rolleyes.gif

there are some good private schools out there. here is a link to one British American Institute and also, if you are feeling ambitious, you can home school your children through San Diego public schools wioth a SD address. I am doing this with my first grader and the program is awesome.

I too am looking for a school for my 9 year old daughter. We have been here for 3 months. We live in Col. Reforma but I can drive if need to. She speaks very little Spanish, but I am adding words and phrases for her to study every day. We are looking for a Spanish class or tutor for my daughter and I. any help would be appropriated.
