I've only been in this apartment in Tomas Aquino for one month and already ready to "move up" to a place with more Americans in a better location that is pet-friendly. I like living mid-way between San Ysidro and Otay but will consider other locations provided they are close to the border.

Thanks. I've already looked on those sites. I'm looking for a personal recommendation as it is difficult to tell from all of those sites about the overall location and safety of places. The place I am currently in says it is American style but that description is not entirely legitimate as there are more Latinos living here than Americans. Guess the problem is everyone now (due to the economy) is more interested in getting any tenants in rather than quality tenants.

ok, Mary, you can check out these apartments i'm at. I think is may be worth your time to see if you like it. It is quiet and nearer to the San Ysidro border, but a short drive to Otay.
Secure, quite and pet freindly (as long as your doggie is not barking non stop.) i have a puppy too wink.gif
FYI* The neighbors will and have thrown out tenents for noise and disturbing the peace. Otherwise private underground parking most units have granite counter tops and clean kept grounds with a speaker system for guests to call in to your apt from the front of the building. Rent is about $400.00 (dollars) depending on a few different models.

You didn't mention the location? Also I assume that price is a 2 bedroom. Do they have any 1 bedrooms?
Also...my 2 dogs (Pekingese) get along with all the neighbors' dogs when they are outside of the complex and they rarely bark. My female dog who is 10 years old already has a young Mexican novio (5 years old) named "Oso". Usually she doesn't like big dogs but for some reason they have taken to each other.

click this mapquest link. http://mapq.st/ewmgAJ
It is the building next to the empty lot with a rectangular hole in the center. When you are in front of it, the driveway goes down under the building. Let me know if you want to see it.
