Does anyone know if they have hospice care in Mexico? Or some type of end of life care? Or are you on your own on this one. Also how would you even go about getting any thing like this?
My husband was just Dx again with another tumor in brain and is being given less than 3 months. I am on my way there to help care for him, and even though I was a nurse for 5 years don't know how to deal with the medical system there. He is at home with his family and they are now the ones helping. His doctor and I keep in contact and he is willing to do all he can to make it easier for him but again even being a former nurse is hard when the patient is someone you love. I am so sorry to hear about your husband. I will be keeping your family in my thoughts. My dad just went through this with my grandma who finally passed 1 week ago. It was both a blessing and heartache.
I asked my MIL because she cared for her own mother the exact same way and she said that the person has to have medico seguro. Then you would just go to seguro and ask for them to have the service in the home. It was covered by insurance. Also, you can contract a nurse or doctor for the service, but it could get very expensive. I hope this helps and I wish you the best. |

Is that medico s the one you get if you work? Or the free one they give almost anyone. We have that one, but it does not pay for anything like brain tumors. I have been doing that myself. I just wanted someone who is trained to come to the house to help. I am a nurse, even though I do not work as one now. But its been a few years like 15 since I did. I remember alot but just wanted someone trained in the end of life part of it. I have my mother in law and all his 6 sisiters there. His brother is in route to zacatecas should be there by Wed of this week. If nothing he can give moral support. Thank you

Damn Z, very sorry to hear about your husband. I don't even know what to say, because words are not comforting when something like this happens to a loved one....
