Any weekly rentals by border?

I just wanted to know if there are any weekly rentals by the San Ysidro border. I want to be as close to the border as I can, and I want a walk-in situation where I can get a place right now and then on my own time look for something more permanent. I'm planning to come in to look-and hopefully get-within the next 2 weeks.
I work in downtown san diego and want as short a walk to the line as I can.
Looking to pay about $40 to $50 or so weekly.
Any info helps. Thanks.

I can tell you that I also work downtown SD and walk across the border using Sentri 5 days a week. I wanted the closest thing I could find to the border so that I could reduce my stress level of my commute. In the morning I can walk from my apt. through customs and be standing at the SY Trolley station in 15 minutes which is exactly what I wanted. My biggest thing about moving to TJ was that I had to be by the border so I could walk across. My commute is 1 hour one way which includes about a 45 minute trolley ride.
I looked at couple of the apartments in those tall brown 5 story apartments at the corner of Centenario (sp) y Independencia right next to the glorieta (sp) and the government building. They are 3 bedroom apts. One I looked at was $500 a month unfurnished but it was right on the corner of the glorieta and way to noisey. I saw another one there that was furnished and they wanted like $800 a month. All the apartments in this place are rented out by individuals so screening process seemed very sketchy. There is a little office there with a lady that will show you the apartments but she usually has to call the owners to come with the keys.
I live in an apartment off the glorieta of the women with the bow an arrow. It is right next to Plaza Pueblo Amigo. In my complex they are all 3 bedroom and come with stove, washer/dryer, carpet in bedrooms, and most parking spots are off the street and underground. There is one guy that owns my apartment he also owns another one right next door. You do have to fill out an application and they screen to keep the riff raff out. Now if you are looking to live on the cheap this is probably not for you but I do not think you will find a closer place to live to get across the border. I pay $645 a month. The only thing I had to buy was a refigerator. My complex is very quiet and I hardly ever see any of the other renters. The only thing I do not like is that the complex is not wired for cable so I had to get satelite tv. If I need to use the internet I walk to Starbucks in Plaza Rio or there is another one by Lucerna. The only other thing I do not like is that there are a bunch of drug addicts that live in the canal that walk around the area so you always have to be cautious. I am single so having another 2 bedrooms is a waste but it is all about location, location, location.
There other apartment complexes as well on Centenario like Infovit and smaller ones.
If you need any more info or want me to ask if they are any openings in my place or the one next door, let me know.

i did stay one time at this one place about 6 blocks west of constitucion. it was a weekly-type rental, total no frills and that was fine. i paid $55/week. the only reason i left it is cause basically the next day after i moved in i got a call from central casting for some good extra parts up in l.a. and sanata monica and so i was there one week. it was a quiet area-got searched one time from the cops but i'm no fun for them-i had leche deslactosada and a can of beans from soriana.
i did think about going there again-had no problems. it's about a 10-minute walk to the border.
yeah not looking for anything permanent this minute as i'm kinda looking for a job transfer out of state. weekly at this minute would be best for me.
i probably won't be there much anyways as i do want to beat the morning line and would get up WAY early-i travel on foot-and don't get out of work till 9pm. and yeah i looked at the trolley schedule last night and i saw it's a 45-min. or so ride from downtown to the border.

Why don't you try to workout a roomate type situation, that way you will not pay as much, but get a good place, and you may not be there fulltime anyway. The roomie can watch the place while you are gone and you wont be there often enough ( hopefully) to get in each others way. It will be easier to come and go as you please without the extra hassle. Just a suggestion...Good Luck finding a place.

Why did the police search your place?

Why did the police search your place?
Because he was staying at a $50 a week place. I would expect his neighbors where drug addicts and women of the night

Can someone say where these weekly places are located near the border or downtown areas ?
And would it be correct to assume that they are already furnished ?
I'm asking cause I'm back in TJ having to hotel it.
I'm seeing that even monthly rental aren't too hard to find for under $200.
Usually though, they are unfurnished and lacking one thing or another.

Thanks for the non-recommendation. It didn't occur to me that weekly rentals are mostly one room joints and not apts. And of course such rooms are likely to be furnished.
Even the Zona Norte has okay weekly places, but usually cost double ($100 & up a week). I stayed at Leyva before in a good sized room with a kitchenette.
