Hello all,
I am going to be moving to Rosario hopefully by mid to end of October from Santa Barbara county ca, i have never been there but our family is going to move there because my husband is no longer going to be able to live in USA. We are excited because its going to be a big change and right near the beach!!!! My husband speaks full Spanish and full English, my son and I speak full English barley any Spanish so I'm going to start with my questions.
1. Does anyone have suggestions for any school in Rosario for my 5 yr old son (kindergarten) i would like to put him in a bilingual school because i want him to also learn fluent Spanish?
2. Are there any bad parts in Rosario?
3. What websites can i look for a house (not apt)? I'm looking for 2 to 3 bedrooms, 1 to 2 bathroom with a fenced yard for my small dog no more then $500 USD
4. I don't have a truck to bring my stuff over so i am looking for a company or any one that has a big trailer (the size that will fit bunk bed, king size bed,set of couches, a couple TVs, end tables, and just clothes and rest of house hold boxes and stuff) that can hook a car up to the truck would need to be the size of the biggest Uhal they would have so if you all would know of any one or company that could do that?
5. Whats stuff that you cant bring across the border (besides any illegal stuff)?
Any thing else that anyone would think i should know go ahead and spit it out also Thank you

You can rent a pretty nice place here for 300 a month I came down rented a motel room for a couple days while looking at places many empty and avail imeadiatly Its pretty safe here compared to the rest of the area I drive into >San Diego daily for work no hasles

Not sure about many schools but will ask around. I do know that one of the better private schools is in Real Del Mar off the toll road going towards TJ from Rosarito.

2. Any bad parts in Rosarito? Yes Rosarito has its poorer neighborhoods but not too sure if that means bad. Easy rule of thumb to remember is closer to the beach the more expensive and less poverty = less crime usually.
3. Not going to find much on websites easiest thing is come on down for a few days and walk the street looking for numbers to call many many houses for rent around here, lots of nice houses for 400-600 depending on where located.
4. Search the board for the moving company that has been posting helpful info.
5. Is your husband a Mexican national? are you going to go get your FM3 at the consulate near you so you can bring your household items in?. Plus you want to get your visa so you don't get deported back to the USA.. Is your sons birth certificate registered with the Mexican consulate might as well get him dual nationality now that is if his dads a Mexican national. Is your marriage registered with the consulate might be able to get your citizenship in Mexico faster.

Yes He is a Mexico national I am not me and my son got a passport. What is a FM3 im going to have to look that up. I am just begging to find out what I need to do all togeather but I have to get it togeather soon thank you

I don't remember the exact name of the school, I think it is called Escuela de Americas. They teach classes half of the day in English and the other half in Spanish. My godsons went to it when they lived here, and so does my neighbors children. My other friend who lived here sent her kids to the school up by Real Del Mar. It is a little expensive.

As for housing, I manage properties here in Rosarito, you can view them at rosaritovacation.net. I focus on gated community housing near the beach. We currently have one 3 bedroom, 2 bath house in Quinta Del Mar for $600 month. It is nice because the kids can play inside the community without having to worry. The complex is on the beach and there is 2 pools, a tennis court, and a grass area where the kids play.

I moved here about a year ago and really like Rosarito. I agree with the other person. You can rent a room real cheap right now and look around for houses. There are plenty here. Also go to Craigslist under Tijuana. I found my place thru craigslist. I am not sure about schools as I have no children. A FM3 is your permanent visa here. You renew once a year for 5 years then get an FM2. It is easy to get. There is an immigration office right here in Rosarito to help you with it. Just follow the instructions. A lot of people do not have the FM3 here as they just get a FMT at the border every 6 months but I wanted it as I have mexican plated car.
I have found no bad areas in Rosarito. I do agree the closer to the beach the more security you have. Most places are in gated communities and are well hidden from main road. Things have changed so much at border that no ones knows for sure whats going on. It is best to get the list of all things you are bringing over. You can do that in your husbands name. That way you don't pay duty. It use to be they never stopped anyone with trucks full of stuff but now they seem to stop a lot of people. You can bring all your household good including electronics that have been used in your home. do not bring new electronics, it seems they like to get duty on those items now. Thank goodness I just bought my new TV's a month or 2 ago. Never got stopped or anything. There is a good moving company advertising on this site. You may want to check with them about the move.

Anyway you will enjoy Rosarito. It is a great little town and has great beaches and restaurants and plenty of places to shop, etc.

yes i think i should get an FM3 because i have to in role my son into school and i am planing to get a job to keep my self busy i just love this site it is so great i have learned so much so far!!! And i thank all of you i did find the movers so i got in contact and i think it is going to work out great!!!
