Hello, all.
I have recently become involved as a volunteer for SCAAT - a nonprofit animal advocacy organization located in Rosarito - km 31.5. In addition to offering spay/neuter campaigns on the second Sunday of each month, SCAAT has a wonderful thrift store with hours of operation from Wednesday through Sunday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The next campaign is Sunday, August 9, 2009 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
If you are a resident of Rosarito (or even if you are not!) and know of animals that need to be spayed/neutered, please pass this information on.
And, if you have something you would like to donate to the thrift shop, wonderful!
For more information, just respond to this message and I'll be glad to give you more details.
For the animals,
RR
SCAAT

I've heard of them before. What kind of items in the thrift store?
Quick question if you can answer this Rosarito Rosie does Baja have an animal control unit? There are some neighborhood dogs I wouldn't mind being taken away.

The thrift store has something for everyone - really. There are numerous (and good) books - both paperback and hard cover; old albums, DVDs, artwork (a signed OJ Simpson if you are so inclined!), a lot of quality children's clothing, glassware, knicknacks, jewelry, antiques, collectibles - and on and on.
SCAAT's primary goal is to reduce the animal population through spay and neuter. Strays are picked up, either spayed or neutered, and returned to where they were found. Pups and younger dogs/cats are available for adoption and many are taken to the states for placement there.
Rosarito's pound - once not the best - has improved as of late and animals dropped off there who are "adoptable" come to us. I do not have specific information as to the "rules," but I will do my best to post again after I ask a few questions.
Thanks for your response - the spay/neuter campaigns are by donation and no one is refused for lack of same.
Best -
RR

This is great! I will take my female dog on September 12th. She will be 4 and a half months old. Can they still do it?
Thanks!

Mara, I am not sure if you noticed but the post is abvout a year old. So things may have changed. Be sure to report back. I know of a dog that needs to be fixed.
