My neighbor had a wedding here last week. Very nice hotel and the food and service was top shelf.
It's a little on the high side with rooms over one hundred dollars but very secure and may help the average joe if he gets homesick and wants a recognizable hotel.

What is it your friend was thinking of recognizing?

The last time I was in that hotel, it was not a Marriott. It was ... damn, I forget what it used to be called. But it was certainly a local hotel with a name that could be pronounced in Spanish.

Tell your friend he or she would be better off at the Palacio Azteca. Closer to town, similar architecture, better food, nicer people. Good rates, too, for that matter.

Trust me, I'm a local. Even have a t-shirt that says so.

This hotel is familiar.. it used to be the Emporio near the Hiprodomo de Agua Caliente.

It's VERY modern, really nice. Palacio Azteca is starting to show its age.
