Heavyweaight vs a lightweight.  Gotta love having to sit to cross the border everyday.

If you have had any type of infarction in the U.S. including any type of felony, you won't get Sentri.  It has become very strict.  And the registration is free but there is a fee to continue to apply so the statement is somewhat misleading.  I know people who had minor infarctions years ago and they were denied and someone told me if you had any DUI or DWI forget it.

And none of those so-called border wait times are never correct.  Last week when I left for San Ysidro La Frontera (which is sometimes more realistic) said 2 hours and it took me 1 hour.  BP told me they get their information from border crossers so that is not always a good indication; probably most don't even realize how long they are in line or they include travel time from their home rather than actual wait.  Usually 10:00am-12:00noon Tuesday-Thursday is best and Sat-Sun before 8:00am for both borders.  If you have to drive 30 minutes or more to get to Otay then it isn't any faster and sometimes more time since there are only a few lanes open as most are Ready Lanes and you have to factor the distance from Otay to San Diego.

FYI, this in an INFARCTION: An area of tissue that undergoes necrosis as a result of obstruction of local blood
supply, as by a thrombus or embolus. [From Latin nfarctus, past participle of ...

I do believe you mean infraction. '-)

Can anyone tell me what the wait times have been at the new El Chapparral southbound border on Friday afternoons or evenings? I have not crossed down on a Friday after work in a couple of years.

Fridays for me at about 7pm going southbound through Chaparral is like 15-25 mins.  When you are getting close to the border you see the long line and think "ohh Sh!t".  But in reality it does move along quit well.  Better than before.  I cross everyday and it's the same thing every Friday...

Cross on motorcycle and it is ALWAYS" a 5 minute ride, right up to the border agent.

More sleep, always on time, Never stressed about time and can cross many times a day quickly.

If you need a ride, you can pay me the no stress tax.

It is like living with no border basically...

I've had several occasions recently where the ready lanes were faster than the sentri lanes.

I crossed back into TJ at Chapperal at 6:15pm last night and no long back ups.  I was expecting a long lines but breezed right thru.

Big decrease in Sentri car traffic backed up on the via rapida and ped crossers as of last week for the morning commute.  I hear the SD school kids are out for the summer.  The commute has been pleasant!

I have an average of a two hour wait to cross the border when I drive, which includes going to secondary.  But at the end of the month my letters to my Senators and Congresswoman go out to appeal not having a Sentri.

Took me 1.5 hours to cross IN TO Mexico tonight. What the heck? I am pretty sure CBP was checking south bound traffic, but by the time I got there a bunch of them were just standing in the very far left lane. It was blocked off.

Tijuaneses Americans in TJ drive like crap, Get your Mexican Insurance here.

It only took me that long to cross on time, early on a Friday night.
