Walking back into TJ last night I hear a pop and the sound of air releasing. I look over and some car in the U turn lane back to SD ran over the spike strips and popped all of their tires. The border agent ran up to the car probably telling them their are idiots.

Crossing this morning on foot I have never seen the ped line so backed up that I could not see the end of the line. Guessing at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours to cross on foot this morning around 7:30am.

Haven't crossed the Otay border this week but last week on Friday (12:00noon), Saturday (7:00am) & Sunday (8:00am) by car there was very little traffic in regular lanes. Hope that remains when I cross this week.

est.

It seems to be a crapshoot, no matter what. I check the border crossing times on line about 6 times a day, just trying to get a line on which times are best. Yesterday seems an anomaly as my husband took two full hours to cross at NOON for a V.A. appt. Yet on Black Friday, he got up at 6 a.m. to take my daughter back to San Diego and breezed through in 25 minutes. Go figure. Lately, I have noticed that Otay has pretty much the same wait. Hurry up Ready Lane! '-) (in SYsidro, anyay.....Otay has one but we await our cards) I truly don't know how people do this daily but a good book helps, I guess.

Sentri walking there is never a line per se. You just have to walk on the street to avoid the lines of the non-sentri people then go thru the turnstyle gate. Hug the far left side when you enter the building. On a rare occasion there maybe a line of 8 sentri users but that is not common.

a lot of the car traffic has to do with the construction. The other week they had about a half dozen lanes closed.

Friday night around 7pm I was on the trolley to the border. They made an annoucement that there was a bomb threat at the SY crossing and the trolley was going to make everyone get off at Byer and be bused to the border. They said the ped crossing was still open. We sat around at Byer for 15-20 minutes waiting on the buses to come but then the trolley police said it was all clear and we could get back on the trolley and proceed to SY. Once I got down there I did not notice anything out of the ordinary but there was a bunch of news cameras and a press conference going on. The traffic on 5 was really jacked up when I finally walked across the ped bridge around 7:45pm.

Looked like a bitch trying to get back into TJ last night in your car since they were looking for the guy who killed the cops in LA.

Thursday night took me 1 hour. Friday, took hour and 1/2. Traffic was back to the 905.

How does pedestrian traffic cross these days with the new entry?

I crossed Saturday in my car to do some shopping and I looked over at the long line trying to enter at SY. At about 3:30pm I got in line at Otay and I finally crossed at 4:30pm. My friend crossed on Saturday and it took him 2 hours to cross back at SY.

Crossing on foot last week I did not see any additional wait time going back into TJ.

Christopher Dorner paralyzes U.S.-Mexico border
Has an intention of crossing into Mexico

by Joy Ruvalcaba

February 10 2013
It all started in the city of Los Angeles, when former policeman Christopher Dorner became a threat to his co-workers and anyone else who surrounded him.

Los Angeles is a city that has had many dangerous and famous criminals like Charles Manson, “The Night Stalker”, “The murderer of the road” and many others. Christopher Dorner will most likely be added to this list after he is caught.

Dorner has now made it into the most wanted list, and is being hunt down by officers both in California and Baja California, Mexico. So far there have been several operations in the San Ysidro-Tijuana checkpoint, which has caused people to wait in line up to 4 hours, and expressed their frustration through social networks.

I think that guy has long gone across the border by now, if he did cross into Mexico. Border patrol is a day late and a dollar short and now we border crossers have to pay the price for the continued U.S. government inepitude at accessing solutions. Does anyone really think he's still trying to cross the border. One thing we all know...all those employed at the border will be getting overtime at taxpayers expense for sure.

Now I'd likje to know how much money this facade (believing that guy was coming to Mexico) cost us U.S. taxpayers. Guess we'll all hear about (complaining) the overtime BP accumulated over the past several days when we cross the border this week. This is another example of our taxpayer $$$ wasted on a false sense of security.

Semana Santa has been wonderful last week with very little traffic. I am sure the businesses are not too happy. I believe the TJ kids are out this week as well so hopefully another nice quiet week.
