Nothing wrong with my funny bone it reacts perfectly. Fact is I was looking for humor in my post; believe that was hinted upfront. My response was to a statement that hit my crazy bone. Now that we both understand the errors Im okay and hope you are too.

This brings up a possible subject for a new thread...

- Does a gringo lose ( or shrink ) his funny bone when residing in Tijuana and will that gringo's crazy bone enlarge accordingly?

If you say so, one word to your name is fine with me. Personally, don't care if you wish to call a cat a dog or a dog a cat ; however , if you voluntarily choose to refer to a friend, fellow blogger and human being as a dog then the line has been crossed.

I saw no humor in your personal attack, less in the funny bone remark and look forward to a complete retraction here . If your retraction is acceptable to T-Cat then this is finished unless you choose to advance it.

bluejeans: Unless you know Tcat personally well enough to call him a dog in a public forum, I strongly feel that a simple apology here would be very appropriate. I found your name calling, which is childish, very offensive and in poor judgment and then to pass it off as lame humor was adding insult to injury.

I know Tcat (one word, no hyphen) personally and would not call him a dog to his face, much less in a public forum, where others would think me to be offensive! I saw no humor in your comment at all, as I am sure some other Bloggers found no humor in it as well. So a sincere apology to both Tcat and to finero would end this matter as suggested.

By the way bluejeans, Tcat does not know who you are, as I thought, making your comment even worse in my opinion.

Concerning this thread in general, it turned into an intelligent conversation, thanks to finero, Tcat and a couple of others, but now I see it has reverted back to trivial things like whining about not having a bathtub. Like if I whine here too to all, it will get me a Jacuzzi, fireplace, central heating, etc.? I learned at an early age that there is no Santa Claus and if I want something, I have to get it myself. It’s very simply reality; not a difficult concept for most to grasp.

I sincerely hope this Blog remains a great source of information and intelligent discussion for Estadounidense and others, as well, and not for garbage and slander.

Wow... I have been in hibernation (as far as the point of view of TijuanaBlog is concerned)... The reality is I really haven't slept more than 20 hours for almost 3 weeks as I was in battle with the greatest engineering challenge of my life to date.

With some well deserved sleep now under my belt...

I'm sorry I still an not used to dealing with real people as "handles". My legal name is Tcat. Exactly as spelled here, and other "tech" forums. So my "mental indexing" is still not associating handle/screen names to real people...

This site was a real anchor to give me the data to handle the move to Tj. It has been a (for the positive) a life changing experience. In the words of the song from Queen, We are the champions... "I thank you all".

I personally have taken no offense of anything said here... maybe because I am still to busy handling more real world engineering issues... whatever...

As both a computer nerd and human behavior amateur psychologist I'm still very much involved in the marriage of blending the two... (why I went stealth mode)

It is my sincere hope that folks following in my own steps of thinking about coming to Tj will discover this forum and learn, as I did. I cannot tell you what your shoe size is beyond what fits your foot. So I cannot say living here works, or not, for you.

It's somewhat funny to me that after a year with water pressure, its mentioned here, and for 2 days in a row I am down for about 8 hrs a day :roll:

I did notice they are paving with concrete, previously dirt streets in the area, so it fits. I still would like to know so I can shower in advance...

Yesterday I had a retired friend who lives 250 miles (not KM) south of TJ come by... He was the physical engineer for the Tcat U complex in Seattle... We had a great chat.

I was blown away about the difference between Tj living and living "in Mexico".

In short, we really got it good here. Not complaining about my friends/former employee's life... I could see that in later years too... Damn fine... And being able to take 20 minutes to go get my mail, and maybe this week, actually have some fresh french fries.... all within a short walk (for me).... wow.... really the best of both worlds!

And I am struggling between being a good reporter, and keeping the secret to myself so the lines stay short while crossing the border...

As a lot of you know, I went back to live in the States for a few months and moved back a couple months ago. First, living with a friend, then finding my own little place on the beach a stones throw or two from the border. I live here because the values are those I grew up with back in the late 50´s and 60´s. Gtanted, not all Mexicans share those values but there is a preponderance of people like this here who teach their children respect and manners. I compare this to my 16 year old who got a car from Daddy for Christmas before she turned 16. I can talk history and politics with the 15-1/2 year old boy working at his family´s restaurant across from my apartment. You would think he was college age. My 16yo daughter has subscriptions to all the fashion magazines and her priority is shopping with her friends at the Irvine Spectrum. One of the few things that wasn´t lost when my stuff got sold out from under me in storage was a piece of the Berlin Wall. I just unpacked it the other day and thought of the boy in the restaurant across the street. I went over, sat down and handed it to him, told him what it was...and he said...¨This is a piece of history...¨and from there, a conversation ensued about our World Wars and American pride until the recent presidential elections.

Try having that conversation with the average American teenager...

I'm sick of people just dumping bodies on the side of the road or on the side of the river....If you're going to kill someone just try to dig a shallow grave or throw them in the trash....Let's try to keep a clean Tijuana....

I think that most of the graffiti is gang stuff, defining territory. I said I think, I don't know for sure. I can't read it either.

When I had a shared apartment in centro around 4 years ago a neighbor used to hit the graffiti kids with sling shots! He had his garage spray pianted 4 times and it was always on saturday night so he stayed up and went on his roof and pegged the kids in the face. They never knew where the shots came from. Since then he hasn't had any problems. This was on 4th near the hill.

Graffiti is like a freaking cancer in this city, it's everywhere! Certain places I see it blows my mind, like "how the hell did they spray all the way up the center of that wall? Do they have scaffolding now?"
