Not sure about lanes being closed. I believe your 2 hours in the sentri lane when I saw the line of cars backed up on the via rapida. Every sentri member must have crossed over to TJ last weekend.

The SY car Sentri lane seemed normal this morning around 7am but the ped line was very long.

Dateline 6:15pm last night. Trying to get back to my casa so I can catch the Laker game but some immigration group has blocked one of the two turnstyles as you first enter TJ. Had to wait about 15 minutes as the ped line was backed up. They had TV crews there, a bunch of police and border agents.

7am this morning the ped line was really backed way up.

Wow....seems like all this week it's been bad huh? For me driving wise, since i got new wheels, and have not got a transmitter for the new car, i have had to cross in the normal lanes. Tuesday took me 30 mins. and the rest of this week it took me about 20-25mins. to cross to the U.S.

Crossing back to TJ, On tuesday was pretty bad, about 45 mins. at about 6:45pm. The rest of this week has been good 5-25mins. at about 6:45 as well. It's weird, you can never tell anymore if there is going to be a line going back into TJ or not. Though i did get to see the last 2 quarters of the Laker game. So that's cool.

Yeah there is not way to predict. I guess we know on long holiday weekends things will be really jacked up.

Once the kids get out of school I am not sure if it gets better or worse?

yeah i know what you mean. At least you can tell when summer break & christmas break are here. All you see on the freeway are SUV's loaded with luggage & family going south. But i don't think it's any better traffic wise. because everyone is headed south. How come nobody goes to Canada?

Well i can't say nothing about Canada's border crossing cuz i have never been there. But it might be faster to cross there. I dunno....

I thought it was easier for Mexicans to travel to Canada to visit and or work. I have heard many Mexicans go to Canada for vacation. I grew up very near Canada and I have never been. When I was in Mazatlan on vacation once one of the taxi drivers said he wanted to go to Canada to work not sure if it was legally or illegally.

Up until a year ago Mexicans did not need a visa to enter Canada... now they do, but I'm not sure how hard it is for them to get...

If California was smart (oxymoron) they would install toll lanes at each border and people that want to get in and out in a hurry can pay a 3 or 5 dollar toll. I bet thousands would use this every week. AT least do a test run and see if it would work. On of the draw backs I can see would be everyone using it sad.gif

You know what..I personally think that that is a good idea! Especially for people that do not go into Cali too often , it would certainly make their trips faster and I would say its money well spent. It might appease the somewhat insatiable money making monster aka government, and at the same time allow people without the sentry pass to glide thru on occasions when necessary or when it is affordable. I bet that it would be popular also, in todays instant gratification world.
