It's not the .90 cent that's the problem... it was simple miscommunication...

The problem I see is that after one criticizm he blows up and now doesn't want to play in our sandbox anymore... and on top of that, insults his customers by basically calling them stupid for not understanding his prices which he didn't explain fully. What the hell kind of businessman is that???
I did feel insulted but I did not loose sleep over it!!! it's only a freaking fax!!! The "stupid" part was over the linea but that's what u can expect from some bisunessmen...

A businessman that came onto this forum to promote his business and be a part of like minded individuals and gets blasted big time by a member who really didn't have that big of a gripe IMO...

Lack of communication OK but the way Galves came at Mario was wrong, aggressive and unwarranted...

We all have reacted on occasion instead of responding which is all Mario is guilty of.

Did Galves or his wife expect unlimited Faxes for the $3 dollar price ???

Come on, it's NOT rocket science, it's burgers and the internet and he Galves made a big stink over a buck fifty.............

He should be glad it wasn't me that was running the business. I would have invited him over to pick up his $3 bucks via "Check"...
Get blasted big time? C'mon man! You should know better than that! are u sure u read my posts? And there u go with that word again---agressive---if u call agressive giving one's opinion than by all means call me Mr. Super Agressive!!!

And NO my wife did NOT expect to get 1000 faxes for 30 pesos and I know it's not rocket science...get ur head out of the gutter bud and read between the lines porfavor!!! I'm sorry, was that too agressive for you?

Lou....

It's okay for Marcelo to blow up... but not the customer???

Dealing with upset customers (for whatever reason) is business 101. If you can't hold on to your temper as a business owner that is in business to serve the customer... the said businessman has no business being in business.

Especially after one small complaint... I certainly don't think galvezis' post was that blasting big time, agressive or unwarrented. He simply said that his wife was upset that she was charged more than expected, and would not be back to use the fax service... he even inferred that he would still come try the food (which I doubt he will do now due to how Marcelo blew up)

What if the difference in quoted price was $15usd instead of $1.50, what if it was $150... the amount is not important. It's the principle. More importantly it's how "Marcelo" treats his customers... even if they are complaining about service or price... whatever... to be a good businessman you gotta be nice to the customer if you want them to come back.

And who doesn't want customers to come back??? I guess maybe a Funeral Parlor because that would just be disgusting./ laugh.gif

You know I love you Lou... but lighten up Francis... (I wouldn't want one of your "checks")
TJDave, thanks...I agree but try to make the others do the same...it's impossible!!!

galves should have taken it to a PM or went and visited Marcelo personally and NOT put it on the board.
His intent by doing so was to halt any future customers or cliens for said service that is why he singled out the fax service and NOT the food of which he has not tried yet.
That is bad karma on Galves's part.
Regardless of the cost, like I said before, you go to the Mgr before you put up picket signs and lines in front of the store and that is what Galves was intending to do...............

PS YOU would NEVER be on the opposite end of one of my "Checks"........
Miss you homie............
Again, my intent was NOT to screw this guy over!!!

Agree with bigloudj on his way of handling this $ 1.00 piss ant problem. Advertised or not I would expect to pay full rate for the first page going to different phone number(s) simply because of the added cost that any business would pay; seems reasonable to me. However this thread is not about reasonable rather picking the fly shit out of the pepper.

Might be Galvezis you should follow your own advice as offered in a past thread.

By the time this is over I'll be way over Chiquitos 1000 post count...LOL...

Now to you...I have been putting off replying to your "friendly" PM...well bud, you finally bursted my bud light bottle...

I know you been having a problem with my comments/ideas/shout outs and that's fine...I really don't care...I have too many things to worry about than to worry about what you think of me!!! Yes, I posted the remarks above that you so gladly saved on the clipboard of ur PC...you seem to have some kind of issue with most of the things I say but regardless...I am a member of this blog and have been for almost a year and if I post my opinion about "noisy neighbors" or "faxes" then you can either read it or push the "back button"...

AMEN!!! now who's next...???

See you are still picking the fly shit out of the pepper as I believe your multiple responses confirm that . Shit, I won't even get into the agressive nature. Hear your own words of appr 10 days ago and Stop the Winning

Now I'm really pissed!!! Oh, my bad...not because of you guy but cause the Padres lost but that's another thread...

Yes, it was my sole advice to move if you can't take it here in TJ...I have been here on and off for more than 27 years buddy so here I stand (sit) in Baja looking at your posts, drinking my brew and handling my biz...will I move? Yes, because I have 3 boys that deserve better than the schools Mexico has given them but, again, that's another thread...

Very funny that u mention Marcelo (or whatever his name is) as my future barber...do you see what ur saying? Are you as sharp as a butter knife? Get it straight dude! You have been hating me since day one and that is why you speak of me this way! Some one you don't even know! Yeah, that's right! You don't effen know me so I suggest you stop your "whinning" against me and pick on the next motha effer cause this cabron will not stand your bullshiznit!

Enough of this!

i'm going to bed...

This whole thing is very silly and approaching the ridiculous zone... but some good laughs though...

IMHO and yes, none of you have asked for it... but anyway, I think both parties were wrong to some degree and could have handled it much better. It should have been handled privately, as well, to explain and understand the pricing and blaming everyone on this Blog did not really sit well at all with most here, like antagonizing your potential customers helps business???

But I do think too that Marcelo ate the voice calls cost and basically let Glavez off cheap only to be repaid by some bitching about 90 cents or whatever because the customer doesn’t understand the normal procedure for fax pricing.

$1.50/ $1.35 or whatever is a deal for first page especially to US from Mexico and 60 cents for additional pages to same number is cheap too. Any other new phone/fax numbers are, of course, at the higher rate again for first page to cover phone call cost; standard at any Kinko’s, etc.. I also think that if you don’t have a fax phone # and get a voice, you pay for the call but then pick up maybe and ask them for their fax #; this is not brain surgery...

An apology by Galvez for starting this mess and an apology by Marcelo for blaming the whole Blog??? :? (Not holding my breath though.)

Chiquito, care to elaborate on what you were getting at with the ‘tommy’ site posts? Are you saying, it can’t be real ‘tommys’ chili? I may have to go there with the ‘tommys’ expert who started this thread but actually I am concerned more about the beef than the chili... Checked with the ‘tommy’s expert’ who has eaten there and she says it is the real stuff.

And in general, boycott the China Olympics and the China Formula One Grand Prix later this year and then you can eat Tommy burgers and fax to your hearts content (see it is related to the thread smile.gif ).

Also a News Flash to me at least, never heard of it before but makes sense. On 8 or 10 News last night, US farmers not getting enough laborers on their farms are starting farms in Mexico where the labor is available and ship the produce back to US. The local gov’t. officials love it! Not sure if it expands a lot that the federal Mexican officials will tolerate it; the ‘Americanization’ of Mexico??? (What? Trying to change the subject? Me? :? )

So how bout those Chili burgers ? smile.gif

A couple of people sent me pms about trying this place out. I'm still going.

After we finish our meal I will send a fax to Galvezis and tell him how good it was  laugh.gif

I wasn't going to bother and go here because I hit up the Tommy’s San Clemente or Laguna where ever it is.

But now I have to go and check it out too......

First off everyone knows that faxes cost more for the first page and less for additional pages.... And that a new fax to a new number starts the whole process over again. (But Marcello, you don’t have to call people morons because they misunderstood your offer. It’s just not good business practice)

Second Galvezis should have told him in a pm if he was trying to offer constructive criticism

Third Marcello chill out a little you don't have very good customer service skills if you can't calmly try and explain a misconception to a disgruntled client.

Fourth I agree with Choi it is hard enough to provide quality food services why would you want to intermingle non related businesses? I haven’t seen the location but I think it odd for a restaurant to offer business services like faxing. Do you do short hand too? How about transcriptions?

I love this forum the way people go off on tangents completely off the topic of the original post.

Just my 2 cents!

"Chiquito, care to elaborate..."

I wasn't saying anything more than where the Tommy's website is. It definitely could be real Tommy's chili if he has it shipped to him as indicated on their website. Or maybe he has someone carry it down from Glendale. I don't know and won't speculate. It was a purely informational post, no hidden agenda.

Tj Jack: " I love this forum the way people go off on tangents completely off the topic of the original post. "

Hey! You talking about me??? My post was 75-80% about chili and fax pricing but I got tired of that as it was going to the ridiculous, so I threw in two more substantial topics maybe worth discussing. So you want to take me out and shoot me or just tar and feather me? LOL

I have had/seen worse tangents on this Blog; wind chimes comes to mind..... LOL biggrin.gif

But, yes, I admit that I do mix topics often but why not go for economy in one post rather than 10? And I would rather not head the ‘most posts’ list too.

Re your other topic, yes, it is free funny entertainment, better than most TV and very well done. Some here though, I think, do not take it as whimsically as you and I do; that’s a shame.

Oh gees! I just saw some replies to your ‘thank you’ post; here we go again...?

Is there public transportation in this area? If so where do I need to find the buses or taxis that go to Playas? Where do I get off?

Just where do you get off? Hah! Seriously, there is a bus route that runs from Playas thru Centro (Calles 2 & 3), to the San Ysidro garita, then to Buena Vista... and back again. Plus all the taxis, rutas for Playas have a terminus in Centro on 2nd Street by the north east corner with F. Martinez.
