I'm salivating seeing so much kitchen cabinet space. Jeez I miss that.
Being on a shoestring budget and in a hurry has to be one of the worst times to move.

I've been seeing it advertized for months, with the price slowly dropping, so I think it's legit - they're jsut desperate to rent it.

George, are you familiar the area this house is in? My mom might be looking for a place here, soon.

It's 100 percent Legit. I passed this add on to a couple guys I know that have been looked for a 2nd home in Tijuana.
Mind you this is not at the border but not that far either. And this price is simply amazing. When this place dropped to around $500 my friend went there and liked it but it was too far for him. He wanted something right at the border.

I think landlords are getting desperate now. I looked at 5 apartments in May. All 5 still have a for rent sign.

there seem to be a LOT of really good deals on craigslist and in some newspapers as well, like la frontera. i picked up a copy today and couldn't believe that the prices seemed better than when i first came to otay 2 years ago. same with craigslist.

i'm back from l.a., in san diego, staying with some friends for now but i need to bust out my guia rojo and check out the locations. soler seems like a good area (i saw some good prices), as well as playas (i have a friend who's been wanting me to move out to playas for a while now).

but as someone said in another thread-i think it was costanza-expect an hour delay on the road coming from playas when it rains. that kinda bites, as i'll be getting a place pretty soon, just as the season is coming in (and i remember what otay was like in 2007-an utter disaster).

i MAY stay in central/downtown; i've done it before. transportation time will play a role in where i go.

Rent has fallen around here as many places depend on the border economy in Otay and it is null.
We can be neighbors!
I am pretty sure I know that area and it is safe with mostly families living there

That would be considered cheap rent in some bad neighborhoods. I found a place that was 100 dollars cheaper and told my landlord I was moving. He asked where I told him a few blocks away and he asked how much I would be saving and he split the difference with me. So I am staying and we are both happy. He told me in the time I have been a tenant he had 3 different ones the year before and had trouble getting them to pay the rent.
