Just got back from eating here. It opens at 1pm for lunch. We ordered 2 of these grilled meat things that feeds two people. The meat included steak, chicken and shrimp with onions and cheese. They give you tortillas and beans. The food was ok, nothing special to me. The place is well decorated and seems like a fun place to hang for happy hour. Total bill for 4 people was 1,000 pesos (food was 800 pesos and drinks 200 pesos).

25 dollars per person for food and drinks is not a bad deal. This place has been around for a long time and I think people go more for the atmosphere than the food itself.
HK was your dish called a Mojcajetes or something like that? Would you go back or was the food more on the bad side than good side?

Yeah I think so. It comes served hot on a metal grill type thing. Maybe they have better things on the menu but the mesaro was pushing this so we choose to try it. The three others with me seemed to enjoy the food more than me. I would go back to drink there for sure. Yes the atomsphere was cool with all the pics on the wall and the writing on the beams. They have a long bar but it looks like they had no seats at the bar so I guess you have to stand there which seemed odd.

actually, i hate this place...the food sucks. sure the ambience is "fun" but with the loud music, and three different mariachi bands playing, any kind of conversation is impossible. when i have gone, i get a seat with a tv view so i have something to do.

that pretty much sums up most TJ eateries IMO. In TJ they think LOUD is better.

I try to avoid all the loud places. Some can be ear blasting especially some of the seafood places

So all this talk of los remedios inspired me to go there Thursday night. The music was not mind numbing loud and we were able to converse at a fairly normal level. 2x1 beers were a good way to get me started. We also ordered up one of the parrilla specials. They basically bring out this mini stainless grill with meat as well as some beans. salsa and cheesy. The meat was very tasty, but be sure to move it around on the grill from time to time to prevent burning. All in all, I think it cost around $350MX and that included the 6 beers.

I walked by this place last night at 9pm on my way home. There was about 20+ State and local police trucks at this place and more coming to the scene. Not sure what all the activity was about but they must have entered the restaurant because I did not see anything happening outside. This was the largest convergence of police that I have seen since I have lived here.
