As for the people who lives with him, that's up to him to disclose. I don't go into details on a man's personal business.

The Showers and the Jacuzzi tub are running hot and cold water out of the faucets.
Sinks are running hot and cold water out of the faucets in the bathrooms and the kitchen.
The pool is 1/3 empty and I am negotiating a contract with the neighbor for water to fill it with.
We have a regular water truck delivery of 4,000 liters of fresh well water twice weekly. The water goes into our 3,000 gallon water feature with 8 foot water fall in the entry. The water is pumped through a filter and then into the house pipes and waaalllaaaa water works in all the valves in the house and in the gymnasium.

there is a guy on 3rd who is still complaining about it seeping into his underground parking structure. His specific words translated were "my f*ckin retainer wall keeps crying"

The deposit only covers damages to the actual apt. itself and or you bailing early.
$100 dollars does seem to be a bit pricey but I worked concrete and the description of damages should have been able to be fixed much cheaper but your landlord had probably been wanting to replace it anyway and here was the opportunity.
You learned a $100 lesson and now we ALL know.
Thanks

Originally I was going to let it go: your f------ stupidity and arrogance. You damaged someone's property and you refuse to pay for it, and besides, you seem to proud of that fact. I hope they run you out of the country. You don't deserve to live in Mexico, a country of gentle and thoughtful people. I would like for you to give me the name of your landlord so I can give her some legal advice as to handle a deadbeat like yourself. I guess in general I would have to say that I wish you the same justice that you would receive in the US: a quick court date with the judgement in the landlord's favor, an increase in your auto insurance, and hopefully a long prison sentence for failing to report an accident.

I saw many homes for rent in this area and he told me that the fear of kidnappings had taken a toll for many families in this area and that some moved to San Diego to avoid problems.
Man, that's got to suck if they're moving to San Deigo, from a 8 bedroom house in TJ to a 3 bedroom or max 4 in San Diego. Better location but the house is still a downgrade. And you're no longer the Shit in the city anymore.

He asked if he was obligated to pay the $100 immedietly or if it was possible to pay it out of his deposit.
He posed the question because he was caught off guard with her wanting him to pay for damages upon request.
I don't know Playaz, have never met him.
It is my entitled opinion that you have some misdirected hostility and or rage and I would direct you to listen to 103.7 FREE FM on Sunday night from 9pm - 10pm for a show called RAGE RADIO.
It is a talk show for men with Anger issues and or Rage.
Guys call up and vent so to speak.
It's very interesting and listener friendly and the guys who host the show are very funny and stimulating.
I have been listening to them for the last 3 weeks and they make a lot of sense.

Stan - I agree with the previous post. I do think you went quite a bit overboard on Playaz as I didn't sense that he was going to walk away from his obligation. He was just feeling that she might be overcharging him and wanted to know what his rights were in Mexico. Go pay a visit to our friend Richsinc and the two of you can work out your anger management issues together while listening to 103.7 on Sunday night. Bring him a fresh box of Depends and maybe he'll share some of his Geritol with you.

Ignore those two guys doing the childish name calling; I don't even bother reading what they type. They are both new here and I guess trying to start trouble.
Having met you; I know you are a good person who simply asked for some friendly helpful advice and got dumped on by a couple of people. I hope you just ignore them.
I meant to suggest earlier that maybe you offer to fix the scratch/gash(?) yourself (some spakle/stucco/paint?) or hire a handy-man but from what you say, it appears too late for that and your landlady seems intent on the money. Sorry.
For all renting, it is just as important checking out the landlord/lady and neighbors as it is to check out the apartment. A bad landlord/lady can make you move real quick as I guess you are considering.
Anyway, take care and hope things work out the best for you and maybe the administrator or Moderator will step in and put a end to the bad-mouthing and childish name-calling.
Time is what keeps everything from happening at once.

Playaz, as you have figured out, renting in Mexico is quite different from in the US. I have rented in several different parts of Mexico as well as other countries and have found that for the most part you take care of most things that a rentals needs as far as repair and maintenance. It is quite common for renters here to not pay the last month rent and tell the landlord to just keep the deposit instead, which is why most landlords will try to recoup damages on the spot when possible.
There is a lot here in Mexico that is not fair - it just is what it is. I have learned to just try and be pragmatic about it...

You are the pragmatic one, BajaGringo. And I am sure this bodes well for you in your life down here. I would write more but my Anger Management teacher doesn't like for us to use our laptops in class for personal e-mails, and perhaps we have covered this issue from all its different perspectives.
