Many manufacturers recommend changing at 90 or 100 k miles. It's better to change it before there's a problem with it. I had a 4 cylinder Toyota belt break at 105,000 with no engine damage. Later I had a v6 Ponitiac chain break at 120,000 and it took several valves with it and was much more expensive repairs.

I've had pretty good service with the mechanics at Angulo on the malecon in Playas, by the beach. 664-609-9112. I supply the parts. They did my brakes for $25 and that included turning the rotors.

Is it running? Timing belt can't be too far off if it is running; otherwise you would have swallowed,smashed and bent valves. Why are you so sure it is the timing belt?

Trying to prevent that is exactly why I'm changing the timing belt early. And probably not, Senor Frog is just not my type of bar. You guys have fun though. And thanks for the referral Chiquito.

A lot of people can vouch for it but Monte Picacho is cool most nights. Drinks prices are the same but the ambiance is way better and the live band they have playing are pretty good. Monday is free tacos and Tueday is lady's night. Not sure about the other days. But a meet and greet for me is part meeting and part partying. There has to be some girls (or guys for the ladies) present to make the time entertaining and the beer worth it. If you guys want to go cheaper, next door has the same alcohol prices but two for 1, I forgot the name.

What does it have to do with oil changes?

I have to check with my buddy as he always gets his oil changed for $10 here and I don't know where. I hate to fight traffic just to cross for an oil change.

If you can come across coupons they can be the cheapest way to go. I have had oil changes for $10 to $12. For that price its not even worth doing it yourself. I hadnt taken notice but it seemed to me a quart of oil has gone up on the average of .50 cents each. I have good luck with a place called "main auto repair" on main street next to 32nd naval station for car repair.

Over $20 is pretty steep for here. Should be between 10 and 20.
Oil changes though, are not where the savings are for car work in TJ.
If I pay a little more here for the convenience, I content.
I saved money here so many times that even when I'd been hustled, I've still saved compared to what I pay in the states.
