Sasha most of the better neighborhoods are targeted and George is right most security guards get paid very little money and will get kickbacks from thieves for good info.

Hey Gary, I sure hope you are wrong but...........get a funny feeling, specially when I have seen new guards every two weeks in the complex I moved into three months ago.
so far so good .
I must say that with the guards that do not know me,they let me in without questions if I act like I belong.
go figure. ohmy.gif

Does anyone have any info on Hacienda del Mar? How secure? How gringo friendly for one sincerely interested in immersing in Mexicano culture/language?

I'm told it's a quiet neighborhood with mostly professional, Mexicano families, about 30% gringo. I'll be moving from the states in 6 mos. (Hopefully by then my spanish skills will be beyond the level of an eloquent, Mexican 2 yr old child.)

I don't want to live in an exclusively 'safe' gringo enclave yet don't want to be any more vulnerable to possible theft or violence as an 'outsider' either.. Any thoughts?

Thanks very much in advance.
