the directv Mexico channel lineup is different than the US lineup

It is not. It is the line-up for Los Angeles.

No US address is necessary.

I believe I signed a one year contract. I also had to buy the receiver even though I had one. For whatever reason the card would only work in the one they sold me even though the units were identical. Both remotes work for the unit though. smile.gif

I think I paid $100 for the unit, and can record 2 shows at once on it. smile.gif

I got it from the Pueblo Amigo shopping center. I don't know who ate who, but I do know I have the Los Angeles package and the San Diego package is not offered.

Bet you can't get pay-per-view (without them calling DirecTV on your behalf). Bet they won't give you your account number either.

What this place does connect you to an account in the Huntington Beach area. What they're doing is illegal and violates DirecTV's dealership agreement. Thus far DirectTV hasn't caught them and they have lots of customers in TJ.

I miss Direct TV Latin America. Sky went and bought it out in 2006. I don't care for Sky's programming, so I switched to Cablemás.

I don't imagine Direct TV USA would be able to detect signals transmitting into Mexico within the border region.

My Direct TV went out last week. I think I have been about 10 days without service. They are telling me to wait another 10 days and they will give me a free month. I have done nothing, but mostly our of laziness. I have Cablemas in the house, so I do have television.

I think this is a pretty good indication that the office by the Pueblo Amigo is an illegal operation. If it was legit, the problem would be fixed immediately. I have had service with them for some 20 months.

It is an Los Angeles package with all(maybe not, but HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, and Others) movie channels. I pay $70.
They said they lost all signal and their is a current investigation going on.

I will give it more time before I make a move. If I did not already have cable I would move faster.
