I see someone got what I wrote about in the Coor's water note and some did not. I would rather drink Corona than Coors and I haven't touched that in many, many years. Of the common beers in Mexico, I go with Negra Modelo, Ambar or Bohemia. Where I can find cucapa or Tijuana Beer, I go with those.

As a curious side note, Olympia Beer is now brewed by Pabst Brewing Company in San Antonio, Texas.

Texas water sucks so there goes that marketing campaign...

Coors, I think its ok beer, but I feel guilty drinking it. I was told growing up that the Coors company was anti union, anti minority. I may have heard later that the original owner had nazi ties.
Guiness, personally I think dark beers taste bad. But, I have met and heard a lot of older people swear that drinking one a day kept them healthy.
There are a lot of micro breweries in San Diego that have great tasting beers and our water taste lousy.

Coors also had a pretty bad environmental record in Colorado...

On a side note PBR is probably my favorite canned beer out there and on average only 6.99 a 12 pack.....

The moto of Olympia beer is "It's in the water."

For me it has to go...

Worst Beers...

1) Tecate Light - yuck and double yuck
2) Any Tijuana Brewery Beer... At the last beer fest I almost hurrled after trying one...
3) Corona Light - Is that even beer because it tastes like dirty urinal water
4) Coors Light - Is that even beer because it tastes like dirty urinal water
5) Budweiser- Tastes like stale corn.....

PBR is brewed in Texas which has terrible water quality in general. The fact that you like Olympia is explained by the fact that they are brewed by the same company. That just goes to show that the water doesn't make much of a difference which was suggested as a reason for disliking TJ Beer in an earlier post.

It is all in the brewing recipe, process and personal taste...

Breweries make beer based on the recipe and personal taste of their brewmeister. It is a very subjective thing. In spite of the fact that I grew up with my dad brewing in-house, I am not a daily beer drinker and actually prefer a good wine or stronger spirits. When I do drink beer I like Heineken, Samuel Adams or even a Corona with lime. It's just a personal taste thing. There is a brew fit for everybody's taste.

On beer taste comparisons, I have never attempted to drink from dirty urinal water so I can't say how that tastes exactly but there you go - to each his own...

No attack at all my friend. Somebody is just a little too thin skinned. Can't imagine how you have lasted this long in TJ that way. Might explain your attitude about the city I guess.

This conversation is becoming boring and has nothing to do with beer...

And I will be the one to invite you my friend. An unfortunate consequence of the online conversation is that it allows no opportunity to hear the tone of voice or see ones facial expression to truly understand the mood or intent of the post. I suspect that you often misunderstand my intentions in that regard, and if so I will take the blame and be the one to invite you for that beer. (No TJ Beer - I promise)

How's that for starters???
