Switch your profile to spanish George and look again. I just switched back to spanish and it disappeared. But now I see the blank space it should be in. Probably goes along with the other spanish language errors in the forum.

AdSense is a non-intrusive option. The only issue I see with that is that one has to take care in setting options to filter out objectionable ads. On one site a David Duke ad was triggered by a few innocent keywords from a discussion. (Israelis-Arab conflict, etc) Many members thought that the owner of the site had explicitly placed the ad there, and it took a lot of explanation about adsense to convince people that the site owner wasn't taking ad money from white supremacists.

Google has good filtering options to avoid that.

Not sure I will be putting ads in the forums. They may remain ad free. We're getting a lot more traffic but not having photos and videos helps keep the cost down. Good idea on the avatar resizing. I've been meaning to change that for a while.

Got any links to filter Google ads? All I can find is to filter competitive ones. I want "STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION" and similar ads to stop showing.

Unfortunately, when those ads appear, the URL has to be manually added to the block list. I am searching for other filter options.

Hah! The following ad appears in my google adsense...

Chicas Ensenada
Find Chicas in
Ensenadas at
Great Prices!
www.pronto.com

Some useless word grabbing search engine.

Thats the challenge. Once it is noticed, you add it to the list of prohibited urls as described in the last service.

I find that almost worse than the illegal immigration ad. (not all are racist who want to end it....but yes best filter those too...because who knows.)

Go to Mexico for cheap girls! Yeah...that sucks. Bad image, plus it sound like a k-mart for human beings. Now if people are discussing particular topless bars or congales on a subforum, thats cool. But the "chicas at great prices"....it makes it sound like chattel.

It was probably a funny combo of keywords that the site owner had. Another funny example of the pitfalls of Google AdSense. Here is another possibility, "Blindaje de Carros, Protejete y tu familia de la ola de violencia."......another ad that wouldn't be good to have appear.

Are you guys paying for advertising? In the past few weeks I've seen a huge pickup in traffic! I look forward to the new platform as well.

A chip-in donation widget would be a viable option to help defray server expenses.

How bout adding more baja areas such as Tecate and Cabo and expanding the Rosarito and Ensenda sections?
I added some more Rosarito content and will continue to add more as time allows.
I love TJ!

Goal is to have the site transfered the first week up May
Here is what we would lose in the transfer. The blogging section, this was popular when it first came out then died. Anyone that wants to save the text please do so now. We may lose the avatars but I was told recently they will switch over as well.
The Forum will be home to a new site as well and we may combine the names or go with the new one to incorporate all of Baja.
We will add a lot more forums and categories as well and the community calender will be a nice addition.

Have you looked at some of the the blogs lately 'George'? Specifically the shout boxes. The spammers have been hard at work.

On some other boards that have switched to Innovision I've yet to see any improvement. They're just different but not appreciably better.

SPAM has taken down a few good boards that existed in the past so anything we can do to limit their access would be great. No hypertext access for example until a certain amount of time/posts is one way to help eliminate it...

I want to make a site that is nothing but a spam magnet, seriously. What is the recommended forum script that has the worst security and is the most commonly attacked?
