Walking thru Plaza Fiesta Saturday night and this place was closed. Not sure why maybe for Easter weekend.

Around 9:30pm Saturday night I walked out of a bar about 5-10 minutes away from Plaza Fiesta. I was waiting to walk across Sanchez Tob. and some guy walks up to me and in fluent English asks me where I am going. I immediatley go on edge and just say I am going to Plaza Fiesta. He says he will walk with me. I say no that is ok I know the way. He gets a little offended and says he is policia and takes his coat off to show me his uniform. He works at Plaza Fiesta. We start talking and walking to Plaza Fiesta. He tells me how white I look and I should be really careful in the bars. He says be careful which chicas you talk to in the bar and only approach ones that are in large groups. He says there are alot of bad guys that hang out there and you do not want to hit up on one of their girls. I asked him where he was from and he said Sonora but spent a good part of his life in San Fern valley. He said he got mixed up in dealing drugs and was eventually deported. He seemed happy that he found a second life as a cop in TJ. Not sure how he passed the strict background check to become a cop

Czech, eh? I couldn't go there... 5K Zone you know... So I just stood there with my trusty D-handled shovel and my 45 and my 13 5-ton dump trucks loaded with expolsives (C4, Am...Nit, petn, det cord and other stuff) and watched the Russian T-88's roll over the hills and across the bridges that were our targets to blow. Oh, well...

Ever been to the Bohemian Club in Chicago? Still there? Still take a month to order lion steaks, elephant steaks, etc.? Think the times got the better of them, thankfully.

Well I say Czech because part of my family is Czech and most people, unlike you, do not understand the true difference in saying " Bohemian ". But Bohemian is more acurate and the term that my Dad always used without fail. My whole family used " Bohunks " too! Must be a Chicago thing...they lived there much of their lives and in Cicero when it was still filled with Czechs and Polish not like today.
Wherever my dad moved he always joined the " Clubs " in the areas. We used to go as a family to the Sunday Dinners, even in Florida.
My dad is now buried in the Bohemian National Cemetery outside of Chicago. Have you ever actually been inside there? It is beautiful, eerie, and fascinating all at the same time! It is really something to see. Check out the Website, it shows some of the Headstones etc. His last name was Klier but on his Mothers side his great Uncle Charvat actually designed the Cemetary and other things.
I will take a Pilsner over a Corona any day and I will stand by that!

I had a craving for steak Sunday so I went to S. Suizo. I do not think I have had a steak in about 6 months. It was around a 6pm and there was a sparse crowd. I ordered a 199 peso steak which came with baked potato, a little ear of corn, 3 slices of a green vegi, a tomato with some juice inside of it and a little loaf of bread. It was also 2x1's until 7pm so I had 4 Tecate Lights con limon. The steak was very good and I would order it again. Total bill came to 295 pesos.

Bohunks lived/live mainly in the western part of the Czech Republic, which you already know, part of my sector during my Army vacation (Lawd, lawdy, lawdy, Miss Clawdy!*, see, the Army does do some things right; told them I didn't like rice paddies???) in Bayern, a few Kms away. Bavaria is not very much different than Bohemia; gute bier est gute bier, yah?. You know what “honey wagons” are?

Don't mean to scare you, but we may be related..... seems a few years back the Boii tribes (you) forced the Celtic tribes (me) out of the region; feel bad now?. USAEUR/VII Corps used/hired many assimilated forces (aka: disposed persons, mainly from eastern European countries) in Germany; even saw them at West Point when I was in high school. I guess I am starting a little tradation for myself. Usually Sundays I like to chill out and relax. I like to check out a movie early or late afternoon or go to starbucks and get on the internet. Around 6pm I head over to Sotano Suizo and treat myself to the Ribeye steak and I had 3 2x1's Tecate Lite y lime. They replayed the Mayweather/Mosely fight. I left for my casa around 7:45 with a full stomache and a lite buzz

I had another nice time at this place Sunday 6pm. Ribeye 200 pesos, 3 2x1's for 99 peosos (16.5 pesos a beer). Total bill around 333 pesos.

I watched the Lakers game here yesterday. I had dinner and some Tecate Lights. You can not beat the happy hour 5pm -7pm 2 x 1 drinks.

I also noticied on the wall that they have free WIFI. I will have to try it out sometime instead of going to Starbucks I can drink and surf the internet.

It will cost me more I buy one 17 peso bottle of water at Starbucks and surf the internet for at least 2 hours until my battery runs out.

Beer at happy hours is about 17 pesos but I will have much more than one.

This is a pretty cool bar.

I have been hanging out in here since I moved to TJ six months ago. I see the owner in there all the time and is a really nice guy his name is Rene. You see the same people show up in this bar kind of like cheers.

Name the date and time. I am usually there Sunday during happy hour and sometimes Saturday. During the week I don't get back to TJ until 6:30pm so it is hard for me to make happy hour.
