Bottom line is she's back in Mexicali with her mother and does have a boyfriend. I didn't go the phone route or investigator route but after showing her photo around to the local shops I ran into her cousin.
She knew who I was and called Mari. We talked on the phone and she agreed to meet me in Mexicali. Mexicali is the capitol of Mexico as I'm told.
I spent two nights there and it's a furnace, over 100 degrees both days.
I was shocked as Mexicali looks more like the United States and a lot cleaner than Tijuana and Rosarito. She brought her mother and we ate at a nice Italian restaurant she explained her side of the story and apologized and what could I say?
I feel better knowing she wasn't hurt or worse. I will be here for 2-3 more weeks then heading back to Maine.
