Hi all..

Well.. I moved back to Acapulco, and been here for several months now.. BUT the back and forth to the states every 3 months is getting to me, and I just would rather not deal with that, so I decided to come back to good ole TJ. Im looking for a place, although I wont move untill May 1st.. I will be there in a few days for doctors, etc, but am coming back to aca for a few weeks before I return for good! I do want to stay in the Centro area, or close Rio is ok also... So anyway just filling yall in.. and good to be back on the board... If any of you know of any places, please let me know!!

Thanks!

Hi Ryu, The rent is $950.00 dollars per month. It has 2 large bedrooms. Single Level Rustic Style Home with a great ocean view! Master bedroom can accommodate a King Size bedroom set and has a full private bath. 2nd. bedroom can accommodate a Queen size bedroom set and also has a full private bath. Has a large yard with lawn and patio. Kitchen has a gas stove, plenty of cabinet space, garbage disposal and eat in area, sunken living room with a nice big stone fireplace and panoramic windows to view the beautiful sunsets from inside as well as outside. It also has a large Pila, ( underground water storage ) so you will always have water whenever the street water is unavailable. It is on a very large lot so there is plenty of space for parking and great for outdoor gathering. This is a very unique house. Oh, I almost forgot , it is a gated community so there is Private Security 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. A great place to live! Thanks for your interest!

I've looked at a few places in San Antonio Del Mar and they are nice but the owners are having a hard time renting them out right now. The place I looked was renting out for 850 a month and was very nice and semi furnished they called me a couple months later and dropped it down to 800 but thats close to double what I am paying now. If you have the money and want a nice and secure location this is a nice place for a family.

Yes, I have heard that it is a nice Gringo enclave , safe, walled secure, etc, BUT with no offense to the owners and residents of that area... That is not the Mexico experience that I want. For that amount of money, I could live in Miami, Fort lauderdale, etc.. I have no desire to live like an american in Mexico.. I enjoy the genuine Mexican Experience, and although I do hold on to some Americanized things, I try really hard to not make them a big part of my life. I live in Mexico to experience MEXICO, not America inside MExico. Again, no offense for those that choose that style of living, I just dont like it nor want it..

Plus to be honest, the prices , even though lowered , are outrageous for Mexico. I live Ocean front now in Acapulco, and pay less than 200 USD a month for my place, and I assure you its not a dump.. ITS not an Americanized condo, but its nice, so I see no reason to pay that much in Mexico when so many other Ocean front places are ALL AROUND mexico, for a fraction of that.

The only thing is, that every instance, including the add online says its 5 min to SY border.. and thislooks really far away.. ALSO, I thought it was also kinda on top.. Here is a picture from the add showing the view, with 2 towers that look familer.. maybe someone can identify them... and get a better idea where this is... Although I am assuming its not just a TJ shot... BUT I think its from the apartment building..

That picture looks like its taken from the colonia Libertad. The area on the hill east side of San Ysidro border crossing.

OK everyone.. I just got back from TJ.. I was there Monday thru Friday... I didnt get to see mcuh but DID go and see the place in "Del Rio".. Its CLOSE to Zona RIO , let me explain.. say your driving past plaza Rio, and get to the curve where Chauhtemoc is, and the Camino Real.. you cross the bridge there like your going to the Airport, go about Half a mile then at the Soriana turn right and go up to the top about 1 mile or so... It seemed ok.. now that youall kmow what are I am taling about .. any comments?

I have about 2 weeks left untill I come back up there for good... and I have been tearing up Craigslist, olx.xom, etc.. BUT am having trouble finding something.. I really would like to stay in the Centro area or RIO like before... because its relative safety and proximity to everything! I can rent my old aprtment back if I want as its available again (i know because I stayed with my old neighbor this week when I was there), but It was very small.. ANY ideas??

thanks for the advice and help!

Tony

Well its still available, BUT since I have no car, NOR desire to have one, I am concerned, because I think the street "Defensores de Baja California" is a dead end, and the house is ON the end.. So I am concerned about getting public transit...

Hey.. whats up with this board.. No one is posting anything.. The vibe, and atmosphere is much better, nicer, and more civil than ANY other Baja board, so I am really disapointed that no one seems to be posting here?????

We're just a small group but we try to help when we can. I think in your situtation you may want to rent short term where the landlord lives on site. I had a friend who lived near me and his landlord lived in the next building and he never had any problems even when he took a 8 week vacation he came back and his car and place were still there smile.gif

I personally don't like centro for living and Zona rio can be nice but big buck and too many bad elements around.

Tijuana is much more than Revolution ave
