AG...

Craigslist is next to useless for renting in TJ. The best way to find a place ASAP is by driving through the neighborhoods and looking for signs... If you have a TelCel or Nextel you are in business. It really shouldn't take more than a day or two to find a place... if it takes longer, I know of a place in Centro that rents small one bedroom (furnished) for about $70 USD per week... It's located on 6th st. about 1/2 block east of Cristobal Colon. Not an IDEAL location, but it would serve for a cheap temporary base of operations...

If I still lived in TJ, I would offer to drive you around... sorry.

You have to go there and look. You can probably rent something quickly. Looking in ads is not really worth the time as most rentals don't advertise they just put a sign in the window.

in tj, you could find rent from $300-few thousans dollers, like above reply, on your day off, drive around the neighbore hood you may like and call that phone # and tell him your ready to move in at begaining of the month..

its not that hard to do..

Tony
If you have some time contact a Rental agent in Rosarito, if you don't have to travel back and forth all the time to the US then that might be a good option for you. Let them know your budget and have them work for you.

Hey Gringo,
Don't sweat it like some of us have. It's good advice to rent a hotel room. Try the downtown area first and buy a good map to get oriented about the colonias. Even if your Spanish wasn't too good, you could still find something in a short time. I know of a huge lot with a small house and a spectacular view for $300 near downtown. I'd take it if I wasn't sick of moving and my needing a larger space. There are plenty of cheaper places one can easily hunt for.
So many places, from garbage to gold.... Think of it as an adventure ! biggrin.gif rolleyes.gif

Aztec Eagle, feel free to PM me if you want to check out the place I mentioned.

Another resource for some rentals is here - Baja Trader.

Hi Tony don't get scared. Tomorrow first thing get the El mexicano and look in it for rentals in the areas you want. Take a mexicoach down to Rosarito I think they are 7 or 8 dollars one way now and look for places down there. The real estate agents will be located downtown.
