I am very impressed with how fast this project is coming along. The two buildings are growing by the day and will maybe be the cities new icon along with the twin towers, the arch, the minarete, and the torre de aguas calientes.

These new shops and high rises being built of late are great, but this city needs more green areas, more parks. I think the lot where the now defunct Torreo de Tijuana was should be turned into a park, but I looks like they’ll probably build more condos or a shopping center.

Not only does there need to be public green spaces, but green spaces around the new houses. (Come on...at least 3 meters on each side) A lot of the new "INFONAVITs" are heat islands. What good is it to save space and open land when what you develop is 100% ecologically sterile?

In eastern Nebraska land is a lot more expensive than in Tijuana and you can still get a 50,000 dollar house with a decent sized yard. And you hear the birds sing.

Thats why when I purchase out here it will be to build my own house on my own peice of land. (You get more bang for your buck than purchasing in the concrete tracts.

Its kind of ironic that areas considered the poorest have more greenery and larger yards than most the middle class developments. (Compare Mariano Matamoros, El Niño, and Florido with some of the newer tracts!)

Every home ought to have a dirt space to grow plants and a tree.

Now that would suck. Was this in the paper or news? I remember when this got started. I wonder how much planning went into the foundation and such. One good earthquake and this place could be toast.

We have a whole front yard full of dirt!!!--I want to put some thing green in. My husband seems to think you don't plant grass--but the people down the street have a nice green area and some plants. It sure looks cooler there. Also we were washing my car before I had to come back on Monday and we had a stupid tj cop drive by and tell us we were wasting water!! I felt like telling him he wasn't paying for it anyway! We used a hose with a nozzle that we could turn off and on so I don't think we wasted that much!

There has been a drought since the late 90's. Occasionally we will get a wet week but then it's back to desert conditions. Global warming is in full speed.

If a recession hits the US which I think might be coming soon, TJ the city is going to get hit hard and the owners of these condos as well. The only advantage I see to living here is that it's as close to the US as possible for people who are unable to cross. Most of the very rich that are able to have already done so and move stateside I believe because of the kidnapping thing. If you can't feel safe with money why be rich at all.

Looks like the downfall has already begun, an early buyer is trying to sell their condo for 230k. I can't remember ifr I saw the ad on CL or EL Mexicano.
Tijuana is much more than Revolution ave

I think 230K is too high. You can buy a house in Otay Modulos for 50K.

I found a seller at 239 who claims it's lower than what they're asking. They're building 5 more towers, if they dont go bankrupt first. There is no rush to buy there. It will be easy to rent from buyers who wont live there and cant sell it or are not willing to take the hit. TJ RE is on its way down. DO NOT BUY NOW>

Agreed. Why buy in Mexico when you can rent.

There was a spot on cablemas a while back and they boasted a high end nightclub will be featured inside the towers. Hopefully the residents won't mind the noise.

I just got an email from Newcity that they are renting the units with an option to buy, a 2bdr is 1650 and a 3bdr is 2000 a month including all the maintnance fees. If you sign up for the rent with an option to buy all of your monthly rent can go into the downpayment once you decide to purchase. the email came from newcitytijuana@gmail.com.

A friend recently took a tour of thee condos and was surprised to still see them asking for 2k for a 3 bedroom condo. Says there is a lot that still needs to be finished but will be nice when completed. He left his card with them and said "call me when I can move in for half the asking rent". He rents a nice place in playas for 1k but hates the commute. When he spoke to some of the employees there they all told him they are having a hard time selling and renting the condos and that most of the Sold signs are fake to encourage new buyers.
